Job Title: Senior Security Engineer

Location: Onsite (Winchester, VA)

Pay Range: $60/hour to $62.5/hour W2

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our growing security team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and hands-on professional who has a proven track record in deploying and managing enterprise security tools and implementing security best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to threat management, and the ability to collaborate across departments to elevate our security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade security tools, including Mimecast, Sophos, and Qualys.
• Enforce and refine Microsoft 365 security best practices across the organization.
• Lead and support vulnerability management efforts, including scanning, prioritization, and remediation coordination.
• Assist in the implementation of security controls across a hybrid cloud and on-prem environment.
• Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to ensure secure systems configurations and compliance.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and alerts.
• Create documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
• Mimecast
• Sophos
• Qualys
• Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 security configurations and threat protection tools.
• Proven experience in vulnerability management across diverse environments.
• Track record of successfully implementing security controls at scale.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls
• Familiarity with server patching methods and patch management strategies
• Active CISSP certification
