Mid-to-Senior IP Associate – Patent Prosecution & Strategy | Multiple U.S. Offices

A prestigious AmLaw firm is seeking a mid-to-senior-level Intellectual Property Associate with 2–5 years of patent prosecution experience to join its expanding IP practice. This position is open across multiple U.S. office locations and offers the chance to work on advanced technologies in telecommunications, computer hardware, and multiprocessor design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interview inventors and draft detailed patent applications

• Handle U.S. and international patent prosecution through all phases, including appeals

• Conduct patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate, and infringement analyses

• Draft legal opinion letters and advise clients on IP strategy, licensing, and enforcement

• Collaborate with legal teams on IP litigation support and counseling

• Monitor IP legal developments and contribute to internal thought leadership

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of patent prosecution and IP strategy experience

• JD from an accredited law school

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

• USPTO registration (or patent bar eligibility) required

• Familiarity with trademarks, copyrights, and IP litigation procedures

• Strong research, writing, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
